We just returned from the National Walk for Epilepsy, held this past weekend in Washington DC. WHAT A DAY! I think it can sometimes be overwhelming and downright emotional, particularly for my tiny family, when you realize that thousands of people…many with Epilepsy, many supporting family-members who live with the disease, care enough to walk for this cause, and contribute much-needed funds.
Saturday was a beautiful day on the National Mall. The Cherry Blossoms are blooming in the city and everyone’s spirits were so high! Greg Grunberg did a wonderful job revving up the crowd and the energy was contagious! We were lucky enough to be joined by dear friends, Wendy and Spencer Waller, who chose to walk with us. As Wendy said to me during the Walk, “I know there is so much more I can learn about Epilepsy, and something like this event helps!”
It seems the Epilepsy community was very inspired and by the Walk…now, our goal for the next year is to move and inspire more people, those who don’t know enough about Epilepsy! It can be done, I’m convinced!

Thanks for the neat photos. When your family goes with you, what a support group you are together! Nice to share with us…Do you know if the money that was raised goes to all the different state foundations, or is it kept in one place on a national level; does it get shared with CURE which is a private effort?

Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!
