This is a great example of someone who realized that despite his epilepsy, he could continue to participate in other ways in the sport he loves.
Clemson Player Sidelined with Seizures but sill Motivating Team
I had to read this article a few times to really get the full story…Stanley Hunter, a Clemson linebacker, had to quit his team when his seizures got so bad, he truly was putting his health at risk. He also realized he wasn’t doing right by his team. This was both incredibly brave and unselfish, but also he realized that he could do so much good by being on the sidelines and motivating his team, showing them he was taking care of his own health and well-being.
Each game a different player wears Hunter’s number to honor him, which must feel terrific to Hunter. But, those players should also realize how much Hunter is doing for the epilepsy community. Yes, the season has come to a close, and he is no longer able to go out there each week and give his team his best, but he is doing so much good for so many others by tackling his epilepsy taking care of himself.
He is a great example to all.

Clemson Sophomore Stanley Hunter, diagnosed with epilepsy in 2004, stopped playing this year after his seizures worsened.
